As much as I do believe that the invasion is the main reason for the current tragedy, and the damage it added to an already damaged social structure looks irrecoverable, but I still believe that Iraqis are not patriotic enough. We don't love Iraq because Iraq at least for the last four decades did not love us.What is happening now is vengeance. We are trying to badly hurt someone we used to love and he betrayed us, Iraq killed our men, Iraq kicked out millions for no reason. Iraq is rich and important so the vengeance is even harder, because many not only Iraqis are contributing to this bloodshed. Still there are many of us who have forgiven Iraq and wants it to recover, but building is much more complicated and difficult than demolishing. It will take time but love will win in the end.
rehana,Sadoon and azhar I think this is exactly the attitude at the moment burning our own houses for the sake of nothing (3laya wa 3la a3da2e). We all agree on who is doing this, but the outsiders wouldn't have flourished and reached this far without many insiders housing and supporting them. The Saddamists are getting stronger for the same reason, and they are Iraqis aren't they? The Americans are trying to fragment us and we are letting them by being loyal to our sect or tribe or personal interests rather than loyal to Iraq. We've been through a lot throughout history and that is why we ended up worrying about our own indiviual survival not about the safety of Iraq as a whole. I don't live in Iraq as you do, so I do apologise if my views were offensive in any way. and many thanks for Baghdad connect.
